Want to Get Involved?
Whether you need volunteer hours for school or you just want to lend a hand, the Library has plenty of opportunities for teens looking to get involved. Contact the YA department at 630-978-1655 with any questions.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Do you have opinions about the Library? Join us at our monthly Teen Advisory Board meeting! Work on projects, share your ideas, and make new friends while earning volunteer hours. Meetings are usually held on the last Thursday of the month. Open to grades 6-12.
Title Tale Tellers
Have you read a book recently that liked so much you want to tell the whole world? Contact the Young Adult Department and ask about becoming a Title Tale Teller by recording a short video on what makes that book so great.
- Teens are limited to 3 book presentations per year
- Each book equals 1 volunteer hour
- Teens will create a 5-7 minute video or slide show presentation (their choice)
- Information must include the title and author
- Give the viewer a brief summary of the book without giving away the ending,
- Tell us what you liked and did not like about the book along with your favorite character and what about them you liked
- Include 2 other book recommendations
